Professor Dr. Thomas J. Naber, born in 1968, studied mechanical engineering at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences from 1991 to 1994 after completing his apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery mechanic.
After graduating, Dr. Naber worked at Schmitz Cargobull AG in Altenberge from 1994 to 2007 in various management positions in production and development.
While working, he also studied industrial engineering at the Magdeburg University of Applied Sciences from 1997 to 1999.
From 2007 to 2010, Professor Naber worked on his industry-sponsored doctoral dissertation in collaboration with Knorr-Bremse in Munich and the Institute for Automotive Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, completing his doctorate in 2011. After three more years as Head of Development at SAF-Holland in Bessenbach, Bavaria, Professor Naber returned to Münsterland in 2013, where he was Managing Director for Technology at Lichtgitter GmbH.
Following a move to Wilhelm Severt Maschinenbau GmbH in Vreden as Head of Development and Sales for welding robot systems in 2014, he accepted a professorship in Mechanical Engineering at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, Bocholt Campus, in 2018, where he continues to be active in the teaching and research fields of quality management and production systems.
