Direct Air Capture is gaining global relevance as both a climate mitigation tool and a source of CO₂ for future industrial use. As a technology addressing a worldwide challenge, DAC depends on scalable engineering and international collaboration. This impulse talk explores why capturing CO₂ directly from ambient air matters, how DAC enables storage and utilization pathways, and how regional innovation from Münster contributes to global solutions.

Laura Marie Henning is a development engineer at Hengst Filtration, where she works on adsorbers and filter elements for Direct Air Capture. Curiosity and the belief that engineering can make a real difference drive her work at the intersection of climate responsibility and industrial reality. With a PhD in materials science and hands‑on development experience, she focuses on robust and scalable solutions for Direct Air Capture.
