Short CV:
Maria-Varinia Michalun leads the team dedicated to governance and strategic planning for regional development in the OECD’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities. She works with national and subnational governments to reinforce their strategic planning and policy implementation capacity; and has contributed to policy dialogue in such areas as administrative capacity building, industrial transition, disaster-risk management, and cross-border cooperation. Varinia holds a Masters degree in Public Affairs from Sciences-Po Paris, and received her undergraduate degree in international economics from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service, in Washington, DC.
