As a Technical Physician by training, Eliane Mocking-Nieuwenhuis speaks the languages of both the medical and technical world. This is especially useful in her role as Coordinator Clinical Collaborations at the TechMed Centre of the University of Twente (UT), in which she connects academic research initiatives with partners in practice and business, and vice versa, aiming for research with impact in health(care). Next to this she stimulate TechMed’s strategic collaborations with health(care) institutions, among others the Memorandum of Understanding with University Hospital Münster, University of Münster, Medisch Spectrum Twente and UT.
Eliane participates in the Erasmus+ project EUVECA (2022-2026), which focusses on development of future-oriented skills for health and care professionals. Furthermore, she is particularly driven to aid the embedding of Technical Physicians in Elderly Care, both via her work at TechMed and as member of the transmural cluster of the Dutch Society for Technical Medicine (NVvTG).
